Zoom Meeting

Zoom meetings are the best option for conducting smaller classes (up to 50) in a live, synchronous setting. Students, as well as teachers, can actively participate in discussion with both video and audio capabilities.

Kaltura Media Capture

Kaltura Capture is the best option for recording simple lectures that can be delivered to students asynchronously. Kaltura is found within Mediaspace and can capture screen recording and webcam at the same time as separate feeds and gives viewers the option to choose between which of the two feeds they want to focus on at a given time. The editing features are limited to mostly trimming the beginning and end of clips, so this tool should be used if you do not plan to edit heavily.

Camtasia

Camtasia is the best option for recording complex lectures that can be delivered to students asynchronously. Camtasia can capture screen recording and webcam simultaneously. The editing feature are fairly robust, offering the ability to create transitions and overlays over recorded content. It will automatically recognize and mark slide transitions so it makes editing content within the middle of a presentation a breeze.
