While MSU teaching support resources typically do not change drastically from year to year, each fall we take an opportunity to highlight and report on the most current support information and resources.
If you have a question about your computing equipment, using campus-provided software and teaching resources (e.g. D2L, Mediaspace, etc.) you may call the MSU IT service desk at 517-432-6200 or email help@cal.msu.edu to receive support. You may also reach out to one of our team members on the CAL Educational Technology team if you are more comfortable starting with us. Please note that the fastest way to get help is to call the service desk as they are staffed 7 am -Midnight every day of the week.

Teaching Tools & Support
MSU provides a large number of tools for teaching. You can find most of these tools on the MSU A-Z Teaching Tools list, but we have highlighted a few below.
D2L Brightspace
D2L is MSU’s centrally supported learning management system. You may use other systems to teach, however, D2L is the system that is supported by the campus resources.
Kaltura Mediaspace
Mediaspace is MSU’s streaming media server. You can upload videos to the server, use integrated tools to manage access (e.g. limit only to your class), and it is also now integrated with MSU’s Zoom service so you can record your Zoom meetings directly to Mediaspace. When you record a meeting directly to Mediaspace you’ll receive an email when it is done processing that you can forward to your students or colleagues.
Qualtrics
Qualtrics survey software is provided for all faculty and graduate students. This software facilitates both basic and very advanced surveys for your teaching and research work.
MS365 Tools Suite
MSU provides access to the MS365 suite of tools. This includes email/calendaring, as well as the full MS Office suite and a number of other tools that can be used for teaching and learning such as MS Teams, Flipgrid, and MS Bookings.
